"My professional work has been an exploration of understanding my strengths and the obstacles I faced... and what I keep learning is the importance of community, identity, and strength-based models."

About Me

I live for context. Research, history, fiction, personal narratives, the details behind trending social media topics, I love all of it. The richness of life comes from sharing and understanding context, and within that richness, we find love, friendships, amazing work environments, and wisdom.
This page is a hub to showcase some of my work and to provide a general idea about the range of work I enjoy. If you are looking for counseling and/or consulting services, visit my private practice website, Forward Counseling & Consulting, PLLC.

The work I do centers the context of individuals and communities pushed to the margins, specifically Black and neurodivergent individuals and their communities. I’m a Black man, an ADHDer, and I do not have a “typical success story.” I remember how it felt to not be seen, to not be heard, and to have your needs dismissed. Addressing the issues within systems that create those experiences for others, and replacing those issues with holistic strength-based approaches, is my passion.
If you want to connect, feel free to reach out on LinkedIn or Twitter; if you want to inquire about speaking opportunities, workshops, or any of my professional services, please email me at wjwade@fcc-pllc.com.

Please just be patient with my response time as I am currently working on wrapping up a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development with a concentration in Counseling and Counselor Education, while running my business, and being a husband and father. 😎
